Muddy Insects

What you will need:

• 1/2 stick butter
• 1 cup confectionary sugar
• 8 ounces cream cheese
• 2 1/2 cups milk
• 2 blocks of Semi-sweet chocolate shavings
• 2 (3 oz.) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
• 8 oz. whipped cream
• 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies
• Nuts, dried cherries or cranberries to create "gravel" (optional)
• Malted milk balls for "perlite and vermiculite" (optional)
• 1 brand new kid's sand bucket w/ sand scoop or bug collector box
• Little magnifying glasses and/or other bug collection toys
• Gummy insects, bugs and worms

Note: Wash sand bucket or bug box, scoop, magnifying glasses and bug collection toys thoroughly. 

Cream together butter, confectionary sugar and cream cheese and set aside.  Next, prepare pudding mix with milk, then fold in whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Combine the cheese mixture and the pudding cream. Then mix in nuts and fruit.  This makes the "mud".
Crush sandwich cookies and malted milk balls in a blender, a food processor, or crush in a plastic bag until medium fine.  This makes the "dirt". 

Put a layer of "dirt" in the bottom of your sand bucket, along with some gummy insects, then a layer of "mud", then some gummy insects, alternate, ending up with a layer of "dirt" on top.  Refrigerate until ready to serve. Then decorate the top with bug collection toys and magnifying glasses. Serve with sand scoop.  Serves 12.
